NBA Prop Bets For Wednesday the 25th

Kyle Kuzma

After a hot start over the last 2 weeks (7-2!) we’re back with another generous slate and look to continue our fine form as we close out January. Once again we’ll be assisted by the FantasyData Projections as we navigate through the 10 games tonight and hopefully continue to strike gold.

Kyle Kuzma Over 34.5 points + rebounds (-110)

The struggling Houston Rockets (11-36) host the Washington Wizards (21-26) in what is projected to be a close matchup with the Wizards starting out as -3 favorites. The Rockets did break their 13-game losing streak with a narrow win over the Timberwolves, but with 3 wins on the bounce for the Wizards, they face another tough test. Kristaps Porzingis is out for the Wizards for the second game in a row, vacating their highest rebound and average points. Kuzma hit 35 total in their last game against Dallas without KP and he’s actually hit this total in his last 3 straight.

The Rockets are allowing a league-high 37 defensive rebounds in the last 3 games and with the bulk of his rebound numbers being defensive, Kuzma should look to top his season average of 7.6. As well as this Houston is also ranked 25th in points allowed per game (117.4), and the Wizards rank 2nd in points per game in their last 3 (127), so Kuzma should see a high volume of points and rebounds in a somewhat high scoring affair.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 12.5 rebounds (+100)

I try and avoid suggesting Giannis props where I can to simply avoid the frustration of typing out his last name, but this one is lining up quite nicely. The Milwaukee Bucks (30-17) host the Denver Nuggets (34-17) in a hotly-contested matchup, with the Nuggets (+8.5) touted as the underdog in this one. Giannis ranks 2nd in the NBA this season in rebounds per game (11.9) and in the absence of Bobby Portis, who is vacating around 10 rebounds per game, will look to dominate around both baskets as he has hit 12+ rebounds in 7 of his last 11 games. Though it’s a stretch back, the last game Giannis played without Portis, 04/20/22, Portis exited early in the first quarter and he went on to finish with 18 rebounds against the Bulls. Projections see him at a cool 12.6, with the Nuggets allowing 30.3 defensive rebounds per game.

Draymond Green Over 7.5 rebounds (-140)

This one feels like a smash, so hopefully, I haven’t jinxed myself. Golden State (23-24) host the Memphis Grizzlies (31-16) with the Grizzlies (+3.5) slight underdogs on the road, despite having the superior record, having lost their last 3 straight. A huge miss for Memphis is the absence of Steven Adams who leads the team by a distance in rebounds (485 – 11.5 per game). Draymond Green heads into tonight topping his over total in 10 of the last 13 matchups and ranks 2nd in rebounds (302) for the Warriors behind Kevon Looney, who’s only started 1 in their last 3, hence why we roll with Green. Green is averaging 7.1 on the season, and the Grizzlies rank 23rd in total rebounds allowed per game (52.9), as well as leading the league in defensive rebounds allowed in their last 3 (38).

Furthermore, the Grizzlies rank 28th in shooting % in their last 3 (42.1) whilst leading the league in field goals attempted per game (93.2), with plenty of missed baskets. Finally, the Warriors rank 1st in 3’s attempted per game (42.6), whilst the Grizzlies rank 26th in 3’s attempted against (36.6), and in their last 3, rank 28th in points against per game (122.3). All of this indicates the Warriors will be peppering the Memphis basket and the Grizzlies will be less than efficient on offense. Green should see a high total by the end of the night.

Lauri Markkanen Under 37.5 points, rebounds + assists (-115)

The Utah Jazz (25-25) are on the road to face the Portland Trailblazers (22-25) in another tight prospect of a ball game, as the Jazz (+4) open up as slight dogs. Lauri Markkanen heads into this evening as the leading points scorer (1115) and rebounder (395) but Portland will look to slow the Finnish power forward down as they have done in their last 2 matchups this season, and last 4 games total. In all 4, he’s finished below the line offered this evening and not exceeded 23 points in the last 3. Portland also ranks 5th in total rebounds allowed per game (50), so look for them to limit Lauri’s effectiveness around the basket. We have his total around the 33 mark, with his points projection in line with his recent history against Portland at 23.11.
