Best NBA Player Props 10/30

The first full week of the NBA is officially in the books. The week wasn’t the best in terms of prop bets, but the season is still young. Look at last week as a practice round. This week will be different for us. We are going to hit these best props and get one up on the books.

Michael Porter Jr. Over 7.5 Rebounds (-113)

One of the best rebounders in the league this season so far is somehow Michael Porter Jr. MPJ is averaging 11 rebounds in his three games on the season. The Denver Nuggets are clicking on all cylinders, but MPJ has not been a scorer to start. He has been in the paint fighting for rebounds with his athleticism on full display. At 7.5 rebounds, it seems as though the sportsbooks are noticing his rebounding prowess, but are expecting him to come down to earth.

The Utah Jazz are a good rebounding team in their own right, as they are sixth in rebounding percentage. Furthermore, the Nuggets are playing the second night of a back-to-back. They are the 3-0 defending champions. This team looks amazing and MPJ is filling the stat sheets in ways you would have never thought. His offense might get going, after he finished with 20 points last game. However, his rebounding line might be at the perfect spot to take the slight over.

Anthony Edwards 25+ Points (-130)

Anthony Edwards was slated as one of the young guys in this league to make a leap to superstardom. Last season, Edwards made the All-Star game and had a great playoff performance against the inevitable champions. This season was going to be his year. Through two games, Edwards has been solid. However, their matchup tonight is very enticing.

The Atlanta Hawks are on a high after beating the Milwaukee Bucks yesterday. They return home today, so there can be some sluggishness from the Hawks team today, who also are not a good defensive squad. The Hawks are in the bottom 10 of the league for points allowed per game.

Furthermore, Edwards is returning to his home state of Georgia. He is going to have family in attendance and we all know Edwards is a showman. This could be his huge scoring output to kickstart his All-NBA campaign. 25+ points seems very safe for what I believe could be an explosion for Edwards.

Derrick White Over 1.5 Threes (-156)

The Boston Celtics are a three point shooting team. Last year, they were second in three pointers made and that is not going to change. Their philosophy is to shoot threes and there is no better team to go up against than the Washington Wizards.

The Wizards allowed 20 threes to the Indiana Pacers, but bounced back versus the Memphis Grizzlies. The difference is that the Grizzlies are not a good three point shooting team, while the Pacers are pushing the pace. The Celtics are nothing like the Grizzlies. They are true contenders who should dominate against a lowly Wizards team.

This is where Derrick White comes into play. White last game hit five threes against the Miami Heat. For his line to be at 1.5 threes against a worse team can come off as fishy, but we have to take the line for what it is. The Celtics might put up 150 points tonight on 25 threes made. Expect White to be a big contributor to the domination of tonight for the Celtics.

Tyus Jones Under 12.5 Points (-124)

We are continuing with the Celtics-Wizards matchup for tonight with Tyus Jones under 12.5 points. Jones has gone over this mark in his first two games, but circumstances were beneficial for him. The Pacers do not have any defensive stalwarts at the guard spots, while Marcus Smart of the Grizzlies was prioritize with Jordan Poole. The Celtics have two guys in the backcourt that can cause Jones some problems.

Derrick White and Jrue Holiday are two elite level defenders at the guard position. I would expect Jrue to stick with Poole for most of the game, but they can switch off very easily. Look for Jones to be more in the facilitator role, rather than scoring. 12.5 points seems low for someone who hit that over, but this game can get out of hand, where Jones might not play in the fourth quarter. Take the under and sweat it out with me tonight.
