Ravens vs Chiefs Week 1 Prop Bets

Lamar Jackson

There are some stellar Ravens vs Chiefs prop bets are available for the season’s opening game, including Lamar Jackson to have two or more passing touchdowns.

Baltimore and Kansas City are Super Bowl contenders, so the outcome is crucial. Therefore, we expect the best players, including Derrick Henry, Isiah Pacheco, and Rashee Rice, to perform on Thursday at GEHA Field.

Our first Chiefs vs Ravens prop bet is Jackson to show why he’s a candidate for successive MVP titles.

Lamar Jackson Showing Off Arm Strength

Pick: Lamar Jackson 2+ Touchdowns (+140)

There has been a lot of criticism for Jackon’s passing game,  but the MVP could show off his arm strength against the Chiefs.

He gets a good chance to put some touchdowns on the board, and we’re backing him to score 2+ touchdowns at +140. It’s a value price for someone of Jackson’s class, and he’s not lacking quality receivers.

Our only worry is the quarterback opting to rush for a touchdown, but with Henry now at running back, he should hand off the ball to the former Tennessee Titan more often than running it himself.

If Jackson wants to show the world he can compete in the passing game with Patrick Mahomes, he needs to make an impressive. We believe in him, so take the value NFL odds for the Ravens QB.

Henry to Score First Touchdown

Pick: Derrick Henry to Score First Ravens’ Touchdown (+245)

Henry, who wanted to make an immediate impression on his new team, was our pick to score the first touchdown for the Ravens.

Despite what some critics say, the bulldozing running back isn’t past his best, and he could storm over the Chiefs’ defense to score first for his team, which pays +245.

He’s the current favorite with NFL betting markets to score first for the Ravens, with Mark Andrews (+425) and Zay Flowers (+475) next best with odds. We think he’s the worthy favorite, and when Henry is at his best, opposing defenses cannot stop him.

There is also solid value for Henry to score the game’s first touchdown. He is a joint favorite at +600 alongside Isiah Pacheco, and the odds make it worth a play in the opening game of the NFL season.

Pacheco Receiving Yards Special

Pick: Isiah Pacheco 25+ Receiving Yards (+195)

We wouldn’t usually associate Chiefs’ running back Pacheco with receiving yards, but there is excellent value with NFL prop odds on Thursday.

We can’t pass up the +195 odds for Pacheco to have 25+ receiving yards, and we have good reason to suggest backing this option. He might have had only 44 receiving yards in all of 2023, but the Chiefs are likely to use him as a receiver at some point during the game.

Coach Andy Reid doesn’t mind doing things a little differently, and sneaking Pacheco through the defensive line for a quick 25-30-yard completion is possible.

After a moderate regular season record in 2023, the Chiefs might want to add more dynamics to their offense. We think using Pacheco as a receiver could have big benefits, and bettors get generous odds for the prop bet.

Mahomes Kept In Check

Pick: Patrick Mahomes Under 268.5 Yards (-105)

The passing yards line for Mahomes is 268.5, and the over has been confidently backed into -125. However, we expected the former MVP to be held in check for the opening game.

The Ravens’ defense can’t be overlooked, and it could take a few weeks for Mahomes to find his groove. Therefore, backing under 268.5 at -105 is an excellent Chiefs vs Ravens prop bet.

He could struggle to find open receivers down the field, and although there is always a check-down play, that’s not going to be enough to see him go over the total.

Hail Mary plays are also less likely in the opening game, so we expect him to look for short-yardage plays more often than deep passes.

We also like Mahomes’ longest completion to be under 37.5 yards. We have faith in the Ravens’ defense, which should be on full display in Kansas City.
