Best NBA Player Props 12/11
A new week is upon us after the conclusion of the In-Season Tournament. Now the regular season schedule moves on and we should see games almost every night now. Last week we went 1-2. Derrick White pulled through, but I tried to get too cute with Domantas Sabonis under 17.5 points.
Then there was Zion Williamson. He is banned for the rest of the season and maybe his career. He looks disinterested on the court, but I got suckered in with a few good games in a row by him. That will never happen again. Zion and the entire Chicago Bulls roster are banned for the entire season.
Luckily those banned players will not have to be in effect today. We have a 13-game slate. There are so many options for player props tonight. Let’s get to work and start the week off in the win column.
Joel Embiid Over 34.5 Points (-115)
Yes, you are reading that correctly. Over 34.5 points is the play, and to be honest, this might be my most confident play of the night. Joel Embiid is on another MVP type of season. He is most likely going to lead the league in scoring for a third straight season. 34.5 seems like a lot still, but why is that?
The reason for this astronomical line is because of the Washington Wizards and Embiid’s recent performances against them. His two highest-scoring performances are both on the Wizards, with the last game being a 50-point night with relative ease. The other game saw Embiid score 48 points.
In reality, the 34.5 line might be too low for Embiid tonight. If you want to bet 40+ for Embiid, that is at +220. That could be a nice sprinkle, but the over 34.5 should be free tonight.
Julius Randle Over 9.5 Rebounds (-130)
Julius Randle is a very feast-or-famine type of player in all aspects of basketball, but especially in the sports betting realm. However, you have to take that chance when the matchup is right. His rebounding isn’t as consistent as it was earlier in the season, but he was able to crush the over in his last matchup against the Toronto Raptors.
His line has remained at 9.5 for the majority of the season, but tonight has an extra reason to take the over. The New York Knicks will be without their starting center, Mitchell Robinson. Randle is going to have a better chance of grabbing more rebounds tonight. I like the matchup a lot and think it is the perfect night to bet some coins on Julius Randle.
Nic Claxton Over 9.5 Rebounds (+106)
If you were to guess which team leads the league in rebounds per game, you would not think of the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets leading rebounder was Ben Simmons, but he has been out for a few weeks now. Next up is Nic Claxton, who is averaging a little less than 10 rebounds a game.
Nic Claxton is their primary big and he will be assigned to guarding Domantas Sabonis tonight. Sabonis is a paint beast and rebounding machine in his own right. Claxton is going to be in the paint the majority of the night, which gives him the best chance of grabbing rebounds on this Nets team.
As long as Sabonis does not draw fouls on Claxton, he should be able to garner 10 rebounds tonight.
Trae Young Under 10.5 Assists (-150)
Trae Young is one of the best facilitators in the NBA. He is second in the league in assists per game. However, 10.5 assists seems steep. In only eight games so far this season, he has surpassed this over. The Denver Nuggets are actually top ten in assists allowed per game, while maintaining one of the slower paces in the league.
This is not to say Trae Young is going to have a bad game. I can see him continue his great stretch of scoring and even pull out 10 assists. I just can’t see him getting over that 10.5.
