Money Where Your Mouth Is Week 2

Jahmyr Gibbs

NFL Prop Bets

Money Where Your Mouth IsWeek 2 of the NFL could not get here any sooner! I need more props! We had a great lineup of picks to open the season, did you tail? Let’s see how we did. Here is the link to last weeks picks!

  • Straight props: 4-1
  • Anytime Touchdown Scorer: 0-1
  • Player Prop Parlays: 1-0

What more could I ask for the first parlay to hit! To be fair, I watered down some of the lines, but the normal lines hit also, so it didn’t matter. We just missed out on a few extra bucks. That’s alright. We will up our unit this week! Going from $5 units to $10. Watch out, Vegas!

Was very happy to see Tua lead the charge in the passing attack to begin the season. Incredibly unfortunate what happened to him during Thursday Night Football. Tony Pollard absolutely smashed his line. He finished with 82 rushing yards. This was really more of a gut call for the season opener, but I will be paying attention to his line going forward. The last leg (more like the first leg since they played on Friday night) was A.J. Brown. As I said in the article, 70.5 yards might be his lowest line all season and he’s not going to miss it very often. If you see a low A.J. Brown line, pounce on it!

Not only did our parlay props hit, but we also cashed the Malik Nabers over 21.5 yards for his longest reception. Cordarrelle Patterson did not score this week, but we are going to adjust how we bet Anytime Touchdown Scorer and make it more interesting.

We had a good slip to open the season. Using $5 units to start, we wagered a total of $30, and finished the week with a bankroll of $62.42. Nice little 100% profit to kick things off. I love to see that!

Let’s dive into the week 2 props we are going to win some money off of!

Week 2 NFL Prop Bets

Jahmyr Gibbs over 24.5 receiving yards (-114 on Fanduel)

If you don’t like Jahmyr Gibbs, you’re either a fan of an NFC North team, or you don’t like football because this kid is electric with the football in his hands. Despite it being a “quiet” night for Gibbs against the Rams, he had 74 scrimmage yards, 4 catches and a touchdown.  Plus, he had 6 targets in the opener. That’s what caught my eye here.

The Bucs are not slumps, they will put up a fight with Detroit if you ask me and the Lions will be using Gibbs to help get the win. I see that directly benefitting this prop. He would have hit this line last week as well, so fingers crossed the pattern continues. Let’s put $10 on this bad boy and add it to this week’s parlay!

Sam Darnold under 232.5 passing yards (-114 on FanDuel)

I honestly don’t understand this line one bit. Sam Darnold threw for 208 yards in the season opener against a Giants defense that isn’t much to brag about. Now Vegas is setting his line almost 25 yards higher than last week’s output? I will happily take that under. We’re talking about a quarterback who said he was seeing ghosts on the field at one point in his career. Have you seen the 49ers defense? Let alone their defensive line? Sam Darnold is going to be seeing monsters on the field this week.

Add this one to the parlay, and drop another unit ($10) on it solo.

CeeDee Lamb over 87.5 receiving yards (-120 on FanDuel)

If I’m being completely transparent with you, this one is entirely a gut call. First of all, he is CeeDee Lamb. Need I say more? He is more than capable of racking up nearly 100 yards on any given Sunday (9 times in 2023, 10 if you count the playoff game), so I will take that chance in week 2. Second, do you think CeeDee Lamb is satisfied with 5 catches for 61 yards from the opener? I don’t. So I will be putting my money on CeeDee this week. If you’re feeling risky, make it his alternate line and get the juicy odds! Lamb 100+ receiving yards is +130. Now that is a fun bet.

We will add this to the parlay and throw $10 on it solo and see what happens!

Here is a look at our parlay. We ended up at +546 so if you want to water down CeeDee Lamb to 80+ yards, it won’t hurt the odds too much and will give you an extra 8 yards to work with.

I am using a bonus bet from the Thursday night game that did not hit, so let’s make that $10 back and some!

Longest Reception

Rasheed Shaheed over 19.5 yards longest reception

There was all kinds of buzz surrounding Rasheed Shaheed heading into the season. After one game, it seems as though he and Carr have established a solid connection. Targeted 5 total times and more than one chance at a deep ball gives me a good feeling putting $1o on this one. Plus, they connected on a 59-yarder last week. Let it fly, Carr!

Anytime Touchdown Scorer (ATTS)

In the first article of this series, I only had one ATTS pick and my strategy was to find one with solid odds, so you could get a good return! Which was Cordarrelle Patterson, and I tried big braining that one with the Arthur Smith revenge game plot but that game was gross so CPat didn’t score.

What I am going to do this week is pick three players for ATTS and put $10 on each one as well as a parlay. Depending on how I feel as I’m “placing” these bets, I may choose to round-robin them. We will see. I will choose what I believe are two “chalk” ATTS picks and then one juicier pick to make it fun. So let’s see who I think is scoring this week.

Garrett Wilson +165

I’m doubling down on Garett Wilson because I took him on Monday night to score and he got so close, but no cigar. So this week, it’s happening! Solid get-right spot for the Jets (if they are legit) and Garrett Wilson should be part of that. Love that he is Rodgers best receiving threat and + odds. Sign me up!

Josh Jacobs -140

The odds aren’t great but we will be using him as part of our parlay so hopefully, he turns out to be chalk! In addition to that, no Jordan Love means they’ve got to rely on their workhorse back, right??? As if another reason was needed to pick Jacobs, the Colts gave up 213 rushing yards in the opener. Josh Jacobs is finding paydirt this week.

Courtland Sutton +390

I feel real good about Courtland Sutton grabbing a touchdown this week. 12 targets from Bo Nix in their first game together gives me confidence that these two will connect in the end zone. It might be bold picking it to happen in week 2, but I love that he’s sitting at +390 when he was tied for the 3rd most targets among wide receivers last week.

After adding these to my bet slip, I just decided to do a 2’s Round Robin for the three ATTS bets.

The bets are in. I’m ready to build the bank and have another great week! Be sure to check out all the action at Picks Calculator as well as my X profile!
